The Toronto Maple Leafs don't expect Mitch Marner to be back when the team returns to game action against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.
Marner missed Saturday's 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens because of a lower-body injury and did not skate at practice Monday morning. Marner suffered the injury during Thursday's game against the Boston Bruins.
With Marner sidelined, the Leafs have recalled forward Nick Robertson from the AHL's Marlies, the NHL team announced Monday.
Robertson was loaned to the Marlies last week as the Leafs try to preserve limited cap room. Toronto would have to make a corresponding move if Robertson were to play against the Flyers.
Robertson has eight goals and nine assists in 41 games for the Leafs this season. He has five goals and six assists in nine games for the Marlies.
Jake McCabe also missed practice Monday as he was given a maintenance day from the team.
The Leafs are off until Thursday when they're in Philadelphia to face the Flyers.
