The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled forward Wayne Simmonds from their AHL affiliate Marlies, the club announced on Friday.
To make room on their roster, the Leafs sent defenceman Filip Kral back down to the Marlies.
Simmonds last played in Toronto's 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 29. He was then sent down to the Marlies on Nov. 1.
Simmonds played three NHL games this season, picking up one assist. The 15-year veteran has played 1,022 NHL games and has 525 points.
