The Toronto Maple Leafs have removed a forward from their roster.
Jacob Quillan was sent down to the AHL's Toronto Marlies on Friday, the team announced.
The move creates a roster spot for the potential return of William Nylander on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT).
Head coach Craig Berube said Thursday that Nylander, who has missed six straight games with a lower-body injury, is a possibility to return against the Canucks.
Quillan, 23, has appeared in three games with the Maple Leafs this season without recording a point.
Toronto is coming off a come-from-behind 2-1 overtime win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday.
