The Toronto Maple Leafs are bringing back Dakota Mermis.
The defenceman agreed to a two-year deal worth $812,500 per season, the team announced Tuesday.
Mermis, 31, appeared in three games with the Leafs last season while also getting one game with the Utah Hockey Club, recording three assists.
Mermis has appeared in 78 career games, recording four goals and 13 points.
