The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed defenceman William Villeneuve to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Saturday.

Villeneuve, a fourth round Maple Leafs draft pick in 2020, produced 20 points in 33 games with the QMJHL’s Saint John Sea Dogs in 2020-21. In 2019-20, he tallied 58 points in 64 games to lead the team in scoring.

The 19-year-old blueliner also played two games for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies last season, but did not find the scoresheet.
