Maple Leafs sign Denis Malgin to one-year extension

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed forward Denis Malgin to a one-year contract extension worth $700,000.

The 23-year-old Malgin was acquired by the Maple Leafs in a February trade with the Florida Panthers and played in eight regular season games for Toronto, recording two penalty minutes and a minus-3 rating.

In 192 career NHL games with Florida and Toronto, the Olten, Switzerland native has 28 goals and 60 points. Malgin was originally selected by Florida in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
