Anthony Stolarz will be between the pipes for the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
Head coach Jim Hiller confirmed that Stolarz will start against the Vancouver Canucks on Rogers Saturday Night Hockey (7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+).
Hiller added that the team had always planned to turn to Stolarz in this game. Stolarz has a 4-1-0 record with a .907 save percentage this season.
The Maple Leafs are coming off a 5-4 loss to the Seattle Kraken in which starter Sergei Bobrovsky was criticized for some of the goals he allowed.
Bobrovsky, 38, has a 3-5-2 record with an .885 save percentage in his first season with the Maple Leafs.
“I feel good. You know, I feel strong,” Bobrovsky said after the Kraken game. “There is mistakes sometimes here and there, but overall I feel confident. You know, I feel good. And all I care about is next shot.”
