The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded defenceman Alex Biega to the Nashville Predators for future considerations.

Biega, who began his career playing five seasons with the Vancouver Canucks organization, played his last two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings before the Maple Leafs signed him to a one-year, $750,000 deal in the off-season.

The 33-year-old has played two games with the Maple Leafs this season and 31 games with the AHL affiliate Toronto Marlies, registering one goal and six assists.
