For the second time in as many trade deadlines, Scott Laughton will have a new home.
The Toronto Maple Leafs dealt the veteran forward to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a conditional third-round pick in the 2026 draft.
The pick becomes a second-rounder if the Kings make the playoffs.
Toronto acquired Laughton last season from Philadelphia. He posted eight goals and four assists in 43 games with the Maple Leafs this season.
Over his career, the 31-year-old totalled 281 points (116 goals, 165 assists) with an additional 12 points (six goals, six assists) in the post-season.
Laughton is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, and will be 32 when free agency opens.
