After a successful first start of the season, Matt Murray will once again man the crease for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Craig Berube confirmed on Saturday that Murray will start against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals for Hockey Night in Canada.
The 30-year-old goaltender made his return to NHL action on Dec. 20 against the Buffalo Sabres after missing 628 days while recovering from bilateral hip surgery.
The Leafs defeated the Sabres 6-3 and Murray stopped 24-of-27 shots.
Murray won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017, and has a career 147-86-24 record, 2.79 goals against average, and .910 save percentage.
