The Toronto Maple Leafs welcomed two defenders back to practice Monday morning, with Jake McCabe and Jani Hakanpaa participating in the team's skate.
McCabe is back with the team for the first time since being placed on injured reserve on Jan. 5 after suffering an upper-body injury.
McCabe was slow to get up after his head crashed to the ice after a fight with Philadelphia Flyers heavyweight Garnet Hathaway.
McCabe previously missed five games this season after he was hit on the side of the head by an errant shot.
The 31-year-old has one goal and 10 assists across 36 contests this season as he's played on a shutdown pairing alongside Chris Tanev.
Hakanpaa, meanwhile, has been managing a knee injury he suffered last season that delayed his season debut to Nov. 13.
The 32-year-old appeared in just two games before being placed on injured reserve in order to have a procedure on his knee.
