Connor McDavid's torrid start to the season just keeps going.
The Edmonton Oilers captain made NHL history on Sunday night, becoming the fastest player ever to hit 30 assists in a season.
McDavid earned his 30th helper on Evan Bouchard's second-period power-play goal against the New York Rangers on Sunday night, hitting the milestone in just 15 games.
Wayne Gretzky held the previous record, earning his 30th assist in his 16th game during the 1984-85 season.
McDavid has earned at least one assist in all of the Oilers' games so far this season — a feat that broke an NHL record on Thursday with his 13th consecutive game with an assist. He's now up to 15 consecutive games.
It's not just the helpers that are coming for McDavid — he's also been piling on the goals. In 15 games, the three-time Hart Trophy winner has nine goals and 39 points, on pace for 218 points over an 84-game season.
The 30-year-old can continue to build on his record when the Oilers take on the Devils on Tuesday.
