Mike Hoffman, who missed all of the Montreal Canadiens' training camp with an undisclosed lower-body injury, is officially in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the San Jose Sharks.

Hoffman was one of the Canadiens' biggest off-season acquisitions, signing a $13.5-million contract as a free agent.

The 31-year-old is expected to provide another scoring threat off the wing for the Canadiens this season. The five-time 25-goal scorer had 17 goals and 36 points in 52 games with the St. Louis Blues last season.

Adam Brooks will slot in for Jake Evans, who is dealing with a minor injury, when Montreal plays the Sharks, head coach Dominique Ducharme also noted. Mathieu Perreault will be scratched.
