Hockey fans will be able to get their fill of the hottest game on ice when Monday Night Hockey and Saturday Night Hockey come to Sportsnet for the 2026-27 NHL season, lifting 150 regional blackouts.
Sportsnet will broadcast 550-plus games, accounting for a 35 per cent jump over last year.
The puck drops on this season’s Saturday Night Hockey coverage featuring the return of Ron MacLean, Kevin Bieksa, Elliotte Friedman and Colby Armstrong on Oct. 3 with a whopping four games, starting with Ottawa visiting Toronto, Montreal facing Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers hosting the Seattle Kraken, and concluding with the Calgary Flames taking on the rival Vancouver Canucks in the nightcap.
Monday Night Hockey, which is exclusive to Sportsnet+, kicks off Oct. 5 with games between the Atlantic Division-rival Ottawa Senators visiting the Boston Bruins, as well as the Winnipeg Jets taking on the Penguins. Hosted by David Amber alongside analysts Luke Gazdic and Justin Williams, Monday Night Hockey brings fans a second weekly national showcase featuring Canadian NHL teams.
“Sportsnet will showcase more games than ever before with 35 per cent more national broadcasts than last year and fewer blackouts, giving fans unprecedented access to the NHL’s biggest stars and best moments," said Greg Sansone, president of Sportsnet.
Sportsnet will also carry all major NHL events, including the Heritage Classic (Oct. 25), Winter Classic (Dec. 31), All-Star Weekend (Feb. 5–6) and Stadium Series (Feb. 20), plus full Stanley Cup Playoffs coverage except for three early-round series airing on Prime Video.
