Morgan Rielly etched his name into the Toronto Maple Leafs record books on Monday.
With a goal late in the first period of Game 1 against the Florida Panthers, Rielly set the Maple Leafs franchise record for playoff goals by a defenceman.
Monday's goal was the 14th of Rielly's post-season career with Toronto, and he broke a tie with Ian Turnbull for the franchise high. Borje Salming is third on the list with 12 playoff goals.
Game 1 is Rielly's 64th game of his Stanley Cup Playoffs career, all with the Leafs.
In Toronto's six-game win over the Ottawa Senators in Round 1, the 31-year-old defenceman had two goals and one assist.
Rielly was selected by the Maple Leafs with the No. 5 pick in the 2012 NHL Draft.
