Multiple cuts have already been made at NHL camps, with the Seattle Kraken doing most of the damage.
Boston Bruins forward Navrin Mutter cleared waivers on Monday, meanwhile Derrick Pouliot of the Chicago Blackhawks and Jon-Randall Avon, Logan Morrison, John Hayden and Victor Östman of the Kraken are all AHL-bound, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Among the notable names are Pouliot, who has 226 games of NHL experience, and Hayden, who has 272.
Pouliot, 32, had his longest stretch with the Vancouver Canucks from 2017-19, tallying 34 points (six goals, 28 assists) over 133 games. However the left-shot defenceman has not suited up for an NHL game since he played in five contests for the Dallas Stars in 2023-24.
Hayden has 39 points over parts of 10 seasons split between the Blackhawks, New Jersey Devils, Arizona Coyotes, Buffalo Sabres and Kraken. The 31-year-old centre played three games last season for Seattle.
