The NHL is going forward with the latter half of a back-to-back matchup between the Golden Knights and Ducks Thursday after Vegas forward Tomas Nosek was removed from the first game following a positive COVID-19 test, the league announced Wednesday.
The league says Nosek was taken out of the Golden Knights’ 5-4 win Tuesday immediately after receiving the result and was isolated from teammates as contact tracing began in accordance with the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol.
Vegas cancelled its media availability after the game due to COVID-19 protocols and proceeded to announce it wouldn’t hold practice Wednesday.
Nosek was added to the NHL’s COVID-19 Protocol list Wednesday.
The NHL says rapid tests, in addition to the daily PCR testing, will be administered to all players and staff on both teams prior to Thursday’s game.
