NHL postpones Tuesday's Flyers-Capitals game due to COVID-19

Scott Laughton recorded his first career NHL hat trick as the Philadelphia Flyers defeat the Washington Capitals 7-4.

Tuesday night's game between the Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns within the Flyers organization.

It is the 34th game postponed due to coronavirus concerns this season.

On Sunday, Flyers defenceman Travis Sanheim was added to the NHL's COVID-19 Protocol List. Despite that, Sunday's game between the Flyers and Capitals was allowed to be played after the Flyers returned roster negative rapid COVID-19 tests. In a statement Tuesday, the NHL said a second Flyers player will be entering the NHL's COVID-19 Protocols.

The Flyers' next two games on Thursday and Saturday against the New Jersey Devils have already been postponed due to numerous Devils players being added to the COVID-19 list in recent days. The Capitals have also had two games later this week postponed due to COVID-19 cases within the Buffalo Sabres organization.
