The NHL sent a memo to teams Friday stating that any worker or people with access to personal interactions with club personnel, including players, are required to be fully vaccinated, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

The league defined "personal interactions" as within 12 feet.

The memo also outlined some limited exceptions, for example, valet parking attendants.

Per Friedman, NHL/NHLPA protocols for players have yet to be completed.

The news come as COVID-19 restrictions slowly start to take shape ahead of the Oct. 12 puck drop on the 2021-22 season.

Earlier this week, the Winnipeg Jets announced that they will require all fans who wish to attend home games at the Canada Life Centre to be fully vaccinated.
