BOSTON (AP) — David Pastrnak scored two goals as the Boston Bruins tied the NHL record for most consecutive home wins to open a season with 11 by beating the Chicago Blackhawks 6-1 on Saturday night.
Patrice Bergeron, Jake DeBrusk, Taylor Hall and David Krejci also scored, and Charlie McAvoy had four assists to help Boston equal the season-opening home mark set by the Blackhawks in 1963-64 and matched by the Florida Panthers last season.
It was the sixth straight victory for the Bruins (16-2-0). Boston hits the road for two games this week — against Tampa Bay and Florida — before returning home to host Carolina for its annual Black Friday matinee.
WILD 2, HURRICANES 1, OT
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Alex Goligoski scored 1:12 into overtime to give the Minnesota Wild a 2-1 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.
Sam Steel had a goal and an assist, and Filip Gustavsson stopped 20 shots as the Wild snapped a three-game losing streak.
Sebastian Aho scored for the second straight game for Carolina, which lost for the first time in six games when leading after two periods. Rookie Pyotr Kochetkov made 19 saves for the Hurricanes, missing a chance to become the eighth goalie in NHL history to win the first six decisions of his career.
BLUES 6, DUCKS 2
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Pavel Buchnevich had two goals and two assists as the St. Louis Blues won their sixth straight game following a long skid, beating the Anaheim Ducks 6-2 on Saturday night.
The Blues set a record for the longest winning streak in NHL history by a team immediately after losing at least eight in a row in regulation. The Blues dropped a franchise-worst eight consecutive games between Oct. 24 and Nov. 8.
Cam Fowler and Adam Henrique each had a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who have lost five of six. John Gibson made 24 saves before being relieved by Anthony Stolarz to start the third period.
STARS 5, ISLANDERS 2
DALLAS (AP) — Jamie Benn scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period and had two assists, and the Dallas Stars beat the New York Islanders 5-2 on Saturday night.
Mason Marchment had a goal and an assist, and Radek Faksa, Jason Robertson and Jani Hakanpaa also scored to help Dallas win its second straight game and increase its lead to three points on Colorado and Winnipeg in the Central Division.
Mathew Barzal scored his first two goals this season for New York, which has lost two straight after winning nine of their previous 11 games. Semyon Varlamov finished with 31 saves.
CANADIENS 5, FLYERS 4, SO
MONTREAL (CP) — Nick Suzuki scored the game-winning goal as the Montreal Canadiens earned a 5-4 shootout victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
Cole Caufield scored two goals, including the game-tying marker to force overtime for Montreal (9-8-1). Christian Dvorak and Mike Matheson added the others.
Jake Allen stopped 25-of-29 shots in regulation and overtime for the Canadiens.
Owen Tippett, with two goals, Travis Sanheim and Kevin Hayes scored for Philadelphia (7-7-4). Zack MacEwan recorded two assists and Carter Hart made 28 saves.
AVALANCHE 4, CAPITALS 0
WASHINGTON (AP) — Missing a handful of injured regulars, the Colorado Avalanche keep winning because two of their best players are healthy and rolling.
Cale Makar scored, Nathan MacKinnon had a goal and two assists and the defending Stanley Cup champions got 32 saves from Alexandar Georgiev to beat the Washington Capitals 4-0 Saturday night for their second consecutive victory.
The Capitals opened the game with 12 shots to the Avalanche's two but couldn't beat Georgiev, Kuemper's replacement who notched his first shutout with his new team.
PENGUINS 3, JETS 0
WINNIPEG (CP) — Tristan Jarry served as a barrier the Winnipeg Jets just could not get through.
The Pittsburgh goaltender stopped all 32 shots he faced, leading the Penguins to a 3-0 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night.
It was Jarry’s first shutout of the season.
Jason Zucker, Bryan Rust and Jake Guentzel scored for Pittsburgh.
TORONTO 5, BUFFALO 2
TORONTO (AP) — William Nylander scored twice, Matt Murray made 32 saves and the Toronto Maple Leafs beat Buffalo 5-2 on Saturday night for the Sabres’ eighth straight loss.
John Tavares had a goal and two assists, Calle Jarnkrok and Mark Giordano also scored and Mitch Marner had two assists to push his points streak to 12.
Alex Tuch and Casey Mittelstadt scored for Buffalo. The Sabres fell to 7-11-0. They haven’t earned a point in the standings since Nov. 2.
DETROIT 6, COLUMBUS 1
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Filip Hronek scored twice in the second period, and the Detroit Red Wings beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-1 Saturday night for their second straight road win.
Dylan Larkin had a goal and two assists, and Ben Chiarot, Dominik Kubalik and Tyler Bertuzzi also scored for Detroit. Moritz Seider had three assists, and Lucas Raymond and Andrew Copp each had two. Ville Husso stopped 26 shots.
Emil Bemstrom scored for Columbus, and Joonas Korpisalo had 31 saves.
CALGARY 5, FLORIDA 4, SO
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Rasmus Andersson scored in the fifth round of the shootout to lead the Calgary Flames over the Florida Panthers 5-4 Saturday night in a matchup of teams that made a major trade last summer.
Adam Ruzicka had two goals and an assist for Calgary. Nikita Zadorov and Blake Coleman also scored.
Florida got goals from Colin White, Sam Reinhart, Eetu Luostarinen and Matthew Tkachuk.
Tkachuk scored with 6:14 left in regulation to make it 4-all and help force overtime.
NEW JERSEY 5, OTTAWA 1
OTTAWA (CP) — As captain of the Ottawa Senators, Brady Tkachuk was willing to take the blame for his team's 5-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday afternoon.
The reality is the Senators just weren't good enough against the NHL's hottest team.
The Devils have now won 12 straight and were better in every aspect of the game on this day.
Ottawa has struggled of late, winning just twice in its last 11. Late in the game a faint chant of "Fire D.J." could be heard. Fans have been calling for the dismissal of head coach D.J. Smith the last couple of weeks.
EDMONTON 4, VEGAS 3, OT
EDMONTON — Connor McDavid scored the winner 1:17 into overtime as the Edmonton Oilers broke out of their slump with a 4-3 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday.
Warren Foegele, Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman also scored for the Oilers who had lost five of their last seven overall and three straight at home.
Mark Stone, with two goals, and Keegan Kolesar responded for the Golden Knights who have now lost three of their last four outings. Adin Hill made 19 saves in the loss.
RANGERS 2, SHARKS 1
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Julien Gauthier broke a scoreless tie late in the third period and the New York Rangers beat the San Jose Sharks 2-1 Saturday night.
Adam Fox also scored and Igor Shesterkin had 21 saves to help the Rangers win for the third time in five games (3-1-1).
Logan Couture scored for San Jose with 17 seconds left to break up Shesterkin's shutout bid. James Reimer stopped 41 shots.
Gauthier got the Rangers on the scoreboard with 6:03 left as he tipped Jacob Trouba's hard shot from the point past Reimer for his third of the season.
Fox had an empty-netter with 1:07 left to put the Rangers up 2-0. It was his sixth.
Couture, standing on the right doorstep, then got a pass from Tomas Hertl from in front and quickly put it past Shesterkin for his his ninth.
KRAKEN 3, KINGS 2, OT
Jordan Eberle scored at 2:23 of overtime to lift the Seattle Kraken to a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night.
Jared McCann and Daniel Sprong also scored for Seattle, which has played in three straight overtime games —winning the last two. Martin Jones had 27 saves to help the Kraken improve to 7-1-1 in their last nine games.
Phillip Danault and Trevor Moore scored for the Kings, and Cal Petersen stopped 25 shots. Los Angeles was playing for the second straight night to finish a four-game road trip.
