The NHL has postponed several handfuls of games in Canada since capacity limits became an issue last month.
Vancouver is allowed 50 per cent capacity under B.C. rules, while Winnipeg has said it won’t play in front of any fans after being restricted to 250 people in the building.
The Senators, who recently experienced a COVID-19 outbreak, have now had nine of their past 10 games postponed.
The Canucks game was supposed to open a four-game swing through Western Canada. Now, the Senators are left with a two-game trip to Edmonton and Calgary next week.
“Today, practice changed on what we thought we were going to do and then leave or Vancouver,” Senators coach D.J. Smith said after practice on Friday. “Obviously, that’s not happening. We went to back to more details again. We’ll just keep doing that until they tell us we’re going to play.”
The Jets said Friday they will not be playing home games in any other venue after asking season-ticket holders about the possibility on Thursday.
The 15,195-seat SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon was considered one possibility with Saskatchewan currently not having any capacity restrictions.
