The NHL has suspended Vegas Golden Knights forward Chandler Stephenson three games for elbowing Los Angeles Kings defenceman Tobias Bjornfot.
The incident occurred near the end of the second period of Wednesday’s game. Bjornfot went into the corner to collect the puck when Stephenson laid a massive hit on the defenceman, sending him into the boards. The Kings player was slow to get up and went directly to the locker room.
Stephenson received a five-minute penalty and a game misconduct for elbowing.
