Head coach Jim Hiller has made changes to the lineup ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs' game against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
The Maple Leafs will dress seven defencemen, including newly signed Nick Blankenburg, who is set to make his debut with the team, Sportsnet's Luke Fox reported.
Blankenburg signed a one-year, $1.4-million contract with Toronto on Sept. 27.
The 28-year-old began his NHL career with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2021-22 before joining the Nashville Predators for the 2024-25 season. He finished last season with the Avalanche after being acquired at the trade deadline for a fifth-round pick.
In 176 career NHL games, Blankenburg has recorded 18 goals and 52 points.
Meanwhile, Hiller is going to go with Sergei Bobrovsky in net on Saturday. A decision that was finalized mere hours before puck drop.
The off-season acquisition has made three appearances in Toronto's net this season, holding a 2.96 GAA and .906 save percentage.
