The Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks have swapped minor-league forwards.
The Oilers announced Friday that they acquired Josh Bloom from the Canucks in exchange for Jayden Grubbe.
Bloom, a 22-year-old from Oakville, Ont., was drafted 95th overall by the Canucks in 2021.
In 38 games this season, split evenly between the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks and ECHL's Kalamazoo Wings, he has one goal with Abbotsford plus 15 goals and 13 assists with Kalamazoo.
Per the Oilers, Bloom will report to their ECHL affiliate, the Fort Wayne Komets.
Grubbe, a 23-year-old from Calgary, was drafted 65th overall by the New York Rangers in 2021.
In 28 games this season with the Komets, he has seven goals and 12 assists.
