The Edmonton Oilers have sustained a hit to their forward group.
Adam Henrique won't play Game 2 on Wednesday against the Anaheim Ducks (Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT), head coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters on Tuesday.
Either Josh Samanski or Curtis Lazar will slot in for Henrique on Edmonton's third line, while Matt Savoie will get additional time on the penalty kill, Knoblauch added.
Henrique left Monday's 4-3 Game 1 win early in the first period after a collision with teammate Kasperi Kapanen.
He appeared to clutch his knee before heading down the tunnel. The 36-year-old ultimately logged just 2:56 of ice time before being forced to exit.
Henrique, of Brantford, Ont., played in 65 games for Edmonton this season, scoring three goals and collecting 15 assists in just over 13 minutes of action per contest.
Monday's game marked just the fifth time in Henrique's 16-year NHL career that he has reached the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Henrique was a consistent presence in Edmonton's lineup during its runs to the Cup Final in 2024 and 2025. In 39 career post-season games with the Oilers entering this year's playoffs, he had eight goals and six assists.
