Get ready for plenty of talk about Edmonton Oilers goaltending.
Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch replaced starting goalie Stuart Skinner with Calvin Pickard with his team trailing 3-2 against the Colorado Avalanche after the first period on Friday.
Skinner gave up three goals on 12 shots, continuing a trend of struggling in the first period.
Skinner lost two of his previous three starts, while Pickard had won his previous six starts and 10 of his last 11.
It was the first time Knoblauch replaced Skinner during a game since a season-opening 6-0 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
Skinner (2.68 goals-against average, .902 save percentage) has started 37 games this season, while Pickard (2.50, .901) has 18 starts
