The Edmonton Oilers are getting a major boost for Game 1 against the Los Angeles Kings as top defenceman Darnell Nurse is returning to the lineup after a four-game absence.

Nurse was a full participant at practice on Saturday and was on the ice, skating with usual partner Cody Ceci, during Monday's morning skate. He has been out since injuring his right leg during the second period against the Colorado Avalanche on April 22.

Head coach Jay Woodcroft had previously stated Nurse would be a game-time decision.

Nurse led the team in ice time by nearly three minutes and contributed 35 points this season.

The Oilers open their playoff run Monday night at 10:15 p.m. ET/ 8:15 p.m. MT on Sportsnet West and SN NOW.
