Oilers don't expect to make more moves before deadline, says GM

The Edmonton Oilers roster appears to be set.

General manager Stan Bowman said his team is unlikely to make more moves ahead of Friday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.

"I would imagine that we're done. I don't expect to make other moves. But part of our job is to see what's out there. But I think, looking at where we're at, I think any further addition wouldn't be a significant one," Bowman said.

"If it is, in a depth role, something that made sense, we'd look at it, but most likely I would say this is our team."

The Oilers have already made a pair of trade ahead of the deadline.

They brought in defenceman Connor Murphy from the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday, sending a second-round pick the other way.

Then, two days later, the Oilers went back to the Blackhawks well, picking up forwards Jason Dickinson and Colton Dach in exchange for Andrew Mangiapane and a conditional first-round pick.

Edmonton is projected to have $475,000 in salary cap space at the deadline, increasing the difficulty on any further additions.

The Oilers sit third in the Pacific Division with 68 points in 62 games as they seek a return to the Stanley Cup Final for the third straight season.
