For the first time since, Oct. 27, 2017, Leon Draisaitl has missed an NHL game, ending a 354-game iron man streak.

Draisaitl was a late scratch and did not take the ice on Tuesday night for the Edmonton Oilers' 2-1 overtime win against the San Jose Sharks.

Prior to the game, head coach Jay Woodcroft said Draisaitl was expected to play after taking a maintenance day and missing practice on Monday.

"As I said yesterday, just a few bumps and bruises," Woodcroft said.

Draisaitl also took part in the Oilers' morning skate.

Draisaitl has 50 goals and 51 assists in 70 games this season.
