Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl became the second player to hit 100 total points this season with a goal against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.
Draisaitl's second-period goal came on a one-timer after a pass from none other than Connor McDavid — the first player to hit 100 points in 2022-23. The two superstars were also the first two players to 100 points last season as well.
It marked just the second time in NHL history that two teammates were the first to 100 points in back-to-back seasons. The Oilers duo joined Phil Esposito and Bobby Orr who accomplished the same feat back in the 1973-74 and 1974-75 seasons.
McDavid hit the century mark back on Feb. 17 in just his 56th game. Draisaitl needed 10 more games, as Tuesday night is his 66th of the season.
