The Edmonton Oilers will be without forwards Kailer Yamamoto and Warren Foegele for their season opener against the Vancouver Canucks, meaning they will be dressing only 17 skaters.

Head coach Jay Woodcroft said pre-game that Yamamoto and Foegele would be game-time decisions with undisclosed injuries.

As a result of the injuries, the Oilers will be dressing only 11 forwards and six defencemen due to salary cap restraints.

For the Canucks, defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson was in the lineup despite missing the pre-game skate.
