The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to halt their slide down the Western Conference standings when they renew their Battle of Alberta rivalry with the Calgary Flames on Saturday night as a -110 wager on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Edmonton is coming off a crushing 6-0 loss to the visiting Florida Panthers on Thursday night, and has now been defeated in seven straight outings going into Saturday night's matchup at Rogers Place.

Winners in nine of 10 to open their schedule, the Oilers have slipped into freefall since the beginning of December, posting just two victories in their past 15 contests. The team's fast start quickly vaulted them into contention for top spot in the Pacific Division standings. However, with wins becoming exceedingly scarce the Oilers now enter the weekend buried in 13th place in the Western Conference standings.

Things have gone only marginally better for the Flames, who ride a three-game road losing streak into Edmonton also at -110 odds at online sports betting sites. Calgary hits the road after posting a 5-1 upset win over the Panthers on Tuesday, which marked just its third win in its past 11 contests. The Flames have also been outscored by a 9-3 overall margin in consecutive defeats in Edmonton.

Earlier on Saturday, the Montreal Canadiens will continue a 10-game road trip in Colorado as +285 road underdogs, while the slumping Winnipeg Jets battle the Boston Bruins as +134 road underdogs.

The Canadiens have managed to find their way to the bottom of the NHL standings while losing seven of the first eight contests on their current road trip, but did earn at least a point in three of their past four games including Tuesday's 5-3 win in Dallas. However, they face an Avalanche team that will be gunning for a 15th straight home win as lofty -370 chalk.

The Jets have surrendered four goals per game while losing three of their past four on the road, and have picked up two points in just two of 18 visits to TD Garden since 2007. That's good news for the Bruins, who have re-entered the Eastern Conference playoff picture while winning nine of their past 11, and are listed as -148 home chalk for Saturday's matchup.

Elsewhere on the Saturday odds, the Ottawa Senators look to avoid a third straight defeat as they visit the struggling Washington Capitals as +175 underdogs, and the Toronto Maple Leafs wrap up a six-game road trip by visiting the New York Islanders as -185 favourites.
