Oilers winger Mattias Janmark is set to return to the ice on Wednesday when Edmonton takes on the Hurricanes in Carolina. He was officially activated from long-term injured reserve, the team announced.
The news was confirmed by the Oilers website and social media, and comes after Janmark attended a full pre-game skate on Wednesday morning at PNC Arena.
Janmark, who has been absent since Oct. 26 with a shoulder injury, last played 13:26 in a 3-0 loss to the New York Rangers at Rogers Place.
"It's been a long time, probably the longest I've missed inside of a year in my career, so I'm pumped to be back and obviously it's been tough to be out for that long. So I'm hoping to bring my best tonight," Janmark said.
