The start of the season will be delayed for Mattias Janmark.
The Edmonton Oilers forward is expected to miss one week with an undisclosed injury, coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters Friday.
Edmonton's season opener is next Wednesday against the Calgary Flames.
Janmark had two goals and 16 assists in 80 games for the Oilers last season.
The 32-year-old Swede has 82 goals and 131 assists for 213 points in 637 career games with the Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks, Vegas Golden Knights and Oilers.
