The Edmonton Oilers announced on Monday that goaltender Mikko Koskinen was placed in COVID-19 protocol.

Koskinen didn't skate at practice after testing positive from a rapid COVID test and was awaiting further results. The Oilers later confirmed that Koskinen was indeed placed on protocol. Stuart Skinner will be called up in relief.

Koskinen held a .900 save percentage and a 3.15 goals against average in 26 games with a 16-8-2 record. The Oilers return from All-Star break on Tuesday at home against the Vegas Golden Knights.
