The Edmonton Oilers are set to begin the Stanley Cup Playoffs with three available goalies.
Calvin Pickard has been recalled from the AHL's Bakersfield Condors on an emergency basis, the Oilers announced Friday.
Per Sportsnet's Mark Spector, there are no injuries to either Tristan Jarry or Connor Ingram, but rather the league prefers teams to carry an NHL goalie as their No. 3 throughout the playoffs.
Pickard — who, as a result of the emergence of Ingram, has played all but 16 games in the AHL — has a 3.68 goals-against average and .871 save percentage in the NHL this season. His last game with the big club was a Jan. 8 win over the Winnipeg Jets.
With the Condors, the 34-year-old has a 4-3 record with a 3.26 goals-against average and a .886 save percentage.
The Oilers open their Stanley Cup Playoffs on Monday against the Anaheim Ducks.
