The Edmonton Oilers will be looking for their first win on the road in over five weeks when they visit the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night as -128 road favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Edmonton hits the road on the heels of a 5-3 comeback victory over Calgary that also marked its first victory in eight contests going into Tuesday night's matchup at Rogers Arena.

The Oilers have dropped five straight on the road during a 1-5-2 swoon, allowing an average of 4.20 goals in those defeats. Edmonton has also slipped out of the playoff picture during its current slide, and opened the week trailing by four points in the Western wild card race.

Listed as +116 home underdogs at online betting sites for Tuesday, the Canucks have scored just two total goals while falling to defeat in the first two dates on their current three-game homestand. Overall, Vancouver has lost six of nine, and the Canucks have also lost five of six home meetings with Edmonton since the start of last season capped by a 2-1 defeat back on October 30.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Ottawa Senators will play host to the Buffalo Sabres as -165 chalk on the NHL betting lines. The Senators return home after closing out a three-game road trip with Sunday's 2-1 win in Columbus. However, the team has enjoyed little success on home ice at Canadian Tire Centre, losing outright in 10 of 13, capped by last week's 3-1 loss to Buffalo.

The Sabres open a four-game road trip in Ottawa set as +149 underdogs. Buffalo hits the road on a high after marching to a decisive 6-3 win over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. In addition to marking the Sabres' best offensive performance so far this season, Saturday's victory was also the team's third win in six games after losing six straight over the holiday season.

While the Sabres still have work to do in their bid to return to respectability, they have managed to post wins in four of their past eight road contests. And of those four recent away losses, two came by just a single goal.

Elsewhere on the Tuesday NHL odds, the Winnipeg Jets will try to halt a four-game losing streak as they return home to host the Florida Panthers as +140 underdogs. The Jets steadily faded over their just completed eight-game road trip, scoring just 13 total goals over their final six dates. The Panthers close out a five-game junket in Winnipeg as -155 chalk after dropping a 5-3 decision in Seattle on Sunday that marked their fourth loss in seven away contests.
