The Edmonton Oilers signed forward Greg McKegg on Wednesday to a two-year, two-way contract with an average annual value of $762,500.
The $1.525-million total deal includes a clause guaranteeing a $375,000 salary if McKegg spends time in the minors.
The Oilers will be the eighth NHL organization the 30-year-old has spent time in, after getting drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs back in 2010.
During the 2021-22 season, McKegg played 43 games with the New York Rangers, collecting five points. He also played just one game for the Rangers' AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack.
