Ottawa Senators get Drake Batherson back from COVID-19 protocol

Ottawa Senators' Drake Batherson (19) celebrates his goal against the Pittsburgh Penguins with Thomas Chabot (72) during third period NHL hockey action in Ottawa, on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 (Justin Tang/CP).

The Ottawa Senators got some welcome news on Tuesday with the return of forward Drake Batherson from the NHL's COVID-19 protocol.

The team announced Batherson's return on Twitter.

Batherson was the last of the 10 players to come out of COVID protocol that forced the NHL to postpone three Senators games between Nov. 16 and Nov. 20.

Batherson had two goals and two assists for the Senators in their victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins before he was placed in COVID-19 protocol on Nov. 14. In 14 games this season, the 23-year-old has seven goals and 16 points.
