Florida will have to wait for the return of one its most trusted depth forwards.
A.J. Greer will remain out of the Panthers lineup for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers on Friday, head coach Paul Maurice told reporters.
Greer could return for Game 3 on Monday, Maurice added.
Per morning skate, it appears Jesper Boqvist will once again slot into Florida's lineup in Greer's place.
The 28-year-old Greer posted six goals and 11 assists in 81 regular-season games before adding two goals and one assist in 12 post-season contests.
Boqvist, 26, has appeared in 11 games during Florida's run to the Final, recording two goals and three assists.
The Swede contributed 12 goals and 11 assists in 78 games during the regular season.
Edmonton beat Florida 4-3 in OT in Game 1.
Game 2 between the Oilers and Panthers begins Friday at 8 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. MT with live coverage available on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
