Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov was forced out of Monday's Game 3 win over the Carolina Hurricanes with a lower-body injury.
The Panthers said Barkov was questionable to return but he never did.
After the game, head coach Paul Maurice didn't have any update on Barkov's condition and jokingly said the captain was "at a bar mitzvah."
Barkov was hit by Hurricanes forward Jack Drury along the boards on his final shift. He missed the final seven minutes of the first period and didn't rejoin his teammates for the start of the second period.
Barkov has three points in the series so far, which the Panthers now lead 3-0. He has 12 points in 15 playoff games after collecting 78 points during the regular season.
The Panthers won Game 3 1-0 and can advance to the Stanley Cup Final with a win in Game 4 on Wednesday.
