The Florida Panthers will be without their captain on Tuesday night, as the team announced Aleksander Barkov will not play against the San Jose Sharks due to an illness.
The 28-year-old forward has one goal and five assists in the team's first five games of the 2023-24 season.
This is Barkov's sixth season as team captain.
The Panthers, who made the Stanley Cup Final last season, have started 2-3 this season.
