Brady Tkachuk appears to have avoided any long-term injury concerns.
Tkachuk is listed as day-to-day and is expected to be ready for next week's season opener after missing the third period of a pre-season game Tuesday, coach Paul Maurice told reporters Wednesday, per Panthers insider George Richards.
Tkachuk had a goal and an assist before leaving the ice. The Panthers have not identified the injury.
Tkachuk has five points in two pre-season games with his new club and also fought Charles-Alexis Legault of the Carolina Hurricanes in his first game.
The former Ottawa Senators captain was dealt in the summer to Florida, where he joins his brother Matthew.
The Panthers open the season Tuesday in Carolina against the reigning Stanley Cup champs.
