Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov is day-to-day with a lower-body injury after missing Saturday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Head coach Andrew Brunette said he expected Barkov to be in the lineup, but his lower-body issue "flared up" before the game.

No further information on the injury was given by the team.

Barkov has produced 12 points through 10 games in his ninth NHL season, all with the Panthers. He is currently tied with Olli Jokinen for the franchise goal-scoring lead at 188.
