The Florida Panthers are dealing with several injuries.
Florida provided an update on six players currently sidelined on Monday.
Niko Mikkola is done for the season with a lower-body injury following a knee-on-knee collision with Calgary Flames forward Ryan Strome during the third period of Friday’s 4-1 loss. He won't require surgery, but is looking at a four-to-six week rehab.
Uvis Balinskis' season is also over due to a fractured foot. In 54 games this season, the defenceman notched 15 points.
As for Sam Reinhart and Brad Marchand, they are both without timelines to return with undisclosed injuries.
Reinhart, Florida’s leader in goals (29) and points (61), is still undergoing testing as he's dealing with many injuries. Marchand is done with testing, but it will be about 10 days before his rehab plan is known.
Mackie Samoskevich will be sidelined for the next seven to 10 days after suffering a laceration from a skate blade in Thursday's win over the Edmonton Oilers. He's posted six goals and 17 assists this season.
Anton Lundell is somewhat closer to returning than most of his teammates, as he's not dealing with any serious injury.
"We'll list him as day to day,” Panthers coach Paul Maurice said. “He's not good enough to be on the ice yet. He's getting looked at. We don't think there's much there, but he's not ready to play.”
The Panthers, the back-to-back Stanley Cup champions, are not in contention for a playoff spot as they sit 14 points out of the final wild-card spot.
