Evan Rodrigues didn't embellish this call.
The Florida Panthers forward was knocked out of Game 4 after Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson interfered with him in front of the benches, five minutes into the third period.
After initially assessing a five-minute major, officials reviewed the hit and determined it was only worthy of a minor, but Rodrigues headed down the tunnel and did not return.
After the contest, Panthers head coach Paul Maurice told reporters that he would need further evaluation before providing any updates.
Rodrigues has three assists in nine games for the Panthers in this year's playoffs. He had 15 points during their Stanley Cup run last season.
The Panthers did not score on the ensuing power play but went on to defeat the Maple Leafs and tie the series at 2-2, after dropping the first two games on the road.
The 31-year-old drew some attention in the Eastern Conference semifinals when he was given an embellishment call in Game 2 after being hit along the boards in the second period.
"I didn’t find out until after the game… I didn’t have a clue," Rodrigues said about the penalty. "I figured there was coincidental roughings. I couldn’t believe it. My brother texted me and I was shocked."
Game 5 between the two clubs is set for Wednesday, with puck drop at 7 p.m. ET on Sportsnet, as the series shifts back to Toronto.
