The Pittsburgh Penguins are adding some new defencemen to their roster.
The Penguins traded defenceman Conor Timmins and prospect Isaac Belliveau to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for defenceman Connor Clifton and the 39th-overall pick at the 2025 NHL Draft on Saturday.
With their newly acquired second-round pick, the Penguins selected defenceman Peyton Kettles.
Clifton, 30, played 71 games for the Sabres last season, posting one goal and 15 assists.
He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Boston Bruins before signing a three-year deal with the Sabres as a free agent in 2023.
Timmins, 26, split the 2024-25 season between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Penguins, playing 68 games and recording three goals and 15 points.
Belliveau split 2024-25 between the AHL and ECHL, playing 47 games and scoring five goals and 23 points.
