The fallout from the Pittsburgh Penguins‘ stunning qualifying-round exit from the 2020 post-season continues to emerge.

The team announced Tuesday that captain Sidney Crosby underwent successful arthroscopic wrist debridement surgery Monday and is expected to recover in three to four weeks.

The news comes soon after it was revealed that co-star Evgeni Malkin had left elbow surgery in mid-August. The Penguins decided to shake up their roster following their exit, re-acquiring winger Kasperi Kapanen from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Crosby, 33, had three points in four games during the Penguins’ qualifying-round loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
