Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Brian Dumoulin is week-to-week with a lower-body injury, according to head coach Mike Sullivan.

Dumoulin, 29, was injured after blocking a shot at the end of the second period of Tuesday night's overtime loss to the Boston Bruins.

"The message to the players is when someone goes down, we need to make sure that we pick each other up and play a diligent game. It will provide an opportunity for others," Sullivan said.

The loss of Dumoulin is the latest to hit Pittsburgh's defence, which has been plagued by injury early in the 2020-21 campaign.

In seven contests for Pittsburgh this season, Dumoulin has an assist and two penalty minutes.
