Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jared McCann will have a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety on Saturday for his elbowing infraction on Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Sanheim.
During Friday’s game between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia — a 5-2 win for the Flyers — McCann delivered a hit while Sanheim was clearing the puck out of the Flyers’ end. In the process, McCann’s elbow appeared to contact Sanheim on the side of the head.
McCann was issued a two-minute minor for elbowing on the play.
